Under Roof... Again

I never knew this, but it seems that home builders finish porches early on in the process of building a home. It is obvious now that in order to put on the metal roof, the porches need to be finished. Although we have had many visitors, including electricians, plumbers, propane guys, designers, and inspectors, the porches have seen a lot of improvement lately.

The focus has not been totally on the porches though. All but one of the windows have been installed and they are almost ready to install the siding. The transformation of this stick structure to a house is rapid and impressive. We can't wait to see the house become a home.

Erica and Linda have been picking out everything from faucets and tubs to kitchen islands and dining room table legs, which has been a tense process with so many decisions in such a short amount of time. They are doing an incredible job and the builders are very happy to have the Spencer gals participating so closely in this process. How close? Erica's floor plan has been hanging on the wall inside the house since the walls were constructed. Linda welcomes the workers each morning and commends their efforts in the afternoon. It has been quite an undertaking but success is the only option.

Below are some pictures of the progress that is being made on the house...

Back porch, to be screened in

Front porch, no rail... wide open! Swings, rockers, and maybe a courthouse pew!
