Sound. Smell. Sight.

May 14th, 2013

We arrived in West Virginia around 7:30pm Tuesday evening and watched a beautiful sunset as we crossed the New River. Before exiting I-64 at Lewisburg I could smell that common stench in the WV countryside - cow-pies! As we exited the interstate we turned up 219 for a quick fifteen minute drive to the farm. Upon arrival the 20 or so cows made themselves apparent (through smell and sight). Everything was right and everything was intact.

After grabbing a few things out of our vehicles we packed into the Airstream trailer with Linda and it wasn't long before we settled in quite nicely. Linda, being as caring as she is, had already picked up dinner and beer for us. We had a few laughs and made a few plans for the coming week.

Oh, I forgot to mention, our two cats "Millie" and "Big Meowers" made it to the farm as well (with their vocal chords intact!). Erica says the Big Cat cried much of the way which we all expected and she prepared for. Needless to say, we all packed into the airstream and got a good nights rest because the farmer up the road would be coming Wednesday morning to help erect a fence around our newly tilled family garden.
